Shutting down? Your company data could still be valuable
Short answer: Often, yes. A closed or winding-down company can license a de-identified copy of its docs, code, tickets and call recordings for AI training, if whoever controls its assets agrees. The published range is $100k–$2M+ per approved data package; many companies will not qualify.
Before you cancel tools and delete workspaces, check whether years of internal records could be licensed for AI training. It takes a minute to get an indicative range.

How company data becomes licensable
AI labs need examples of how real teams work. The internal documents, source code, support tickets, call recordings and chat history a company builds up over years are exactly that, and they often outlive the company itself.
Before anything is licensed, records are de-identified: names, emails and personal details are removed or masked, and the data is reviewed. A licence typically covers a de-identified copy, so you keep control of what is included.
The data partner's published range is $100k–$2M+ per approved data package. That range is possible, not guaranteed: many companies will not qualify, and any figure depends on review of the data's size, quality, history and rights.

Take the valuation quiz
About ten quick questions on your team, tools and history. You get an indicative range in about a minute.
- 02
Review and de-identification
If your company looks like a fit, the data partner reviews what you hold. Names, emails and other identifiers are removed or masked before anything is licensed.
- 03
Licensing offer, if approved
Approved companies receive a licensing offer to accept or decline. Nothing is shared without your agreement.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my company eligible if it has closed or is winding down?
- Possibly. The programme has a track for companies that are closing or no longer operating. Typically it looks for 30+ employees, mainly English records and several years of history in tools like Slack, docs, ticketing and code repositories. The quiz gives a first indication.
- How is privacy protected?
- Records are de-identified before licensing: names, emails and other personal identifiers are removed or masked, and data is reviewed before any transfer. You should still check customer contracts, employee agreements and local law, and take your own legal advice.
- How long does it take?
- The quiz takes about a minute. Review and de-identification usually take a few weeks, depending on how much data there is and how quickly exports can be arranged. Act before subscriptions lapse, or the data may be lost.
- Does this affect the wind-down or liquidation?
- It can run alongside it. If a liquidator or administrator has been appointed, they generally control company assets, including data, and should be involved in any decision to license it.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. The quiz and eligibility check are free. Cadabra may earn a referral fee from the data partner if a partnership completes.
- Is payment guaranteed?
- No. The published range of $100k–$2M+ per approved data package is possible, not guaranteed. Many companies will not qualify, and an estimate does not mean you have been selected or are owed anything.
